Sham visits flood affected areas, reviews restoration works

AKHNOOR, Oct 2: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma today conducted an extensive tour of flood affected areas of Akhnoor Tehsil to take stock of damages caused due to incessant rains and flash flood and the progress on restoration works also.
The Minister visited the villages included Nadai, Grattal, Dhara Ardhan, Kathar, Keur, Manoha, Kah and adjoining areas.
The Minister took stock of progress of work on flood protection works at different areas and directed the executing agencies to work with utmost zeal and dedication for the early completion of restoration works.
He also reviewed the progress of restoration work under PHE and PDD and directed the concerned authority to ensure the unintrupted power and water supply to the common masses. He requested the people to extend their cooperation to the government agencies in this regard.
The Minister also assessed the damages caused to Private property during recent rains. He directed for providing free ration to the flood affected families and assured for being providing timely compensation.
Later, various deputations from these villages called on the Minister and apprised him of their problems and demands seeking an immediate redressal to the same.
