J&K’s Prinkle becomes U-12 tennis champion

JAMMU, July 20: Prinkle Singh of Jammu and Kashmir outplayed Sarah Dev of Punjab easily in two straight sets in the singles summit clash and lifted the title trophy in the All India Talent Series Tennis Tournament, organised by Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) under the aegis of AITA at Lawn Tennis Association Stadium, Chandigarh.

In the finals played today, Prinkle displaying superb skill and showing extraordinary motor-ability, got better of Sarah Dev of Harvest Tennis Academy Punjab in an easy contest by 6-4, 6-1 to become the champion in under-12 girls category.

Earlier, in the semifinals, Prinkle blanked Ashpreet Kour of Chandigarh by 6-0, 6-0 in a one-sided contest, while in quarterfinals played on the other day, the ace tennis player of Jammu and Kashmir State, Prinkle thrashed Chelsi Stephen of Punjab by 6-0, 6-0. In the pre-quarterfinal, she defeated Sania of Faridabad, Haryana by 4-0, 4-0.

For this landmark achievement, Prinkle was presented a winners trophy by the Director Coaching, Gajendra Singh in presence of large number of players and parents.

Earlier, she had also qualified for the quarterfinals of the under-16 age category in this prestigious tournament.
