JAMMU, Oct 6: District Poonch Volleyball Champi-onship concluded today at Sports Stadium, Poonch.
Around 10 teams from the Poonch district participated in the tournament. The final match was played between Shaheed Manjit Singh Club and Pinto Club in which Manjit Club defeated Pinto Club by straight sets (25-18, 25-20 and 25-18).
Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer, Jammu, was the chief guest on the occasion. He lauded the initiative taken by the organizers to build up the morale and stamina of the participants so that they could get exposure in such type of sports ad make their State and Country proud.
All the matches were officiated by Volleyball coaches, Bashir Ahmed, Ram Prakash and Jatinder Paul.
The tournament was organized by District Volleyball Association, Poonch under the aegis of Volleyball Association of J&K while all the matches were organized under the direct supervision of Nirdosh Kumar Sharma, chairman, District Volleyball Association, Poonch.
