SAMBA, Oct 10: A couple was killed after they were hit by a train at Nanhas Pulli in Ghagwal area of Samba district today.
They were identified as Purkhoo Ram, 55 and his wife Vikas Bhai, 51 both residents of Shiv Narayan Puri in Bihar. They were working as labourers.
Police said the duo was crossing the railway track near the pulli when two trains Jammu Mail which was on its way from Jammu to Delhi and another train was coming in opposite direction. As the space at Pulli was narrow they survived while the Jammu Mail crossed the pulli but were hit by another train coming from Kathua.
The Police shifted both the bodies to hospital where the doctors declared them as brought dead. Later their relatives were also informed. Railway Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law in this regard.
