JAMMU, Oct 11: A programme was organized under National Environment Awareness Compaign on the theme “Biodiversity Conservation” at Government Middle School (GMS) Thana, Zone Bhagwah in Doda.
The programme was aimed at creating awareness among the people living in far flung and hilly areas particularly student community about the importance of forests for survival.
PN Bhagat was the chief guest while CP Thakur, District Coordinator was the guest of honour.
During the programme, a rally of students was flagged off by CP Thakur who impressed upon the people of the region to conserve forests for maintaining ecological balance and green cover of the area.
In debate competition organized on the occasion, Rohit Singh, Chatroo Singh and Nittan Singh were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.
