JAMMU, Oct 13: The NSS Unit of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu today organized a two day workshop on peace building on the theme “ways to sustainable peace”.
In the inaugural session, SS Bajral, IPS, former IGP and Director of Mother the Nature, was the chief guest.
Principal of College, Dr Kiran Bakshi who presided over the function, in her welcome address said that there is need to curb the feelings of I, me and mine.
Prof Vishav Raksha delivered a talk on youth and peace building with special emphasis on NSS volunteers.
SK Jain, president, Vichar Kranti Manch International, who chaired the 2nd session spoke on length on various ways to create sustainable peace while adopting positive attitudes ranging from individual to international level.
A poetry recitation competition on peace building was also organized on occasion in which, Radhika Bali bagged first prize whereas Shivani and Jyoti Charak stood 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
