JAMMU, Oct 16: Continuing their drive against smuggling of liquor and drugs in the holy town Katra, police today apprehended two bootleggers along with large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, a police team from Katra Police Station during patrolling at Katra Bus Stand apprehended two bootleggers along with 40 pouches of illicit liquor.
The accused have been identified as Sonu Sharma alias Tona, son of Krishan Lal of Kadkayal, tehsil Katra and Yashpal, son of Ram Charan of Sila, district Reasi.
The illicit liquor consignment was meant for distribution among the masses by the accused in the holy town of Katra, but before that the police nabbed them.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered against the accused at Police Station Katra and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Katra Police Station Ajay Bhatt made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Ravail Singh and SP Katra Kulbir Singh.
