JKCA Jammu Wing locks ground; selection nets cancelled

JAMMU, Oct 19: Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) today cancelled the selection nets for Ranji and U-23 probables at Hostel Ground, GGM Science College, Jammu, as Jammu Wing of JKCA today locked the entrance gate of the ground in protest of holding of selection nets.
According to a release issued by the Association, Joint Secretary, JKCA, Jammu Wing, Sudershan Mehta, vice-chairman, Rakesh Kumar and others locked the ground as well as all the facilities therein and despite repeated attempts by the organizers of the selection nets did not unlock the ground and allow the players to join the selection nets.
In view of the said development, JKCA is constrained to cancel the camps at Hostel Ground of GGM Science College, Jammu and will soon shift the said camps to some other feasible location, the release said.
It further added that the next date and venue for the camps shall be announced shortly and only those players who were shortlisted by the selectors appointed by president, JKCA, Farooq Abdullah shall be entertained for their inclusion in the State teams.
