JAMMU, Oct 19: Jodhamal Public School today celebrated its 10th Annual Sports Day.
Dr Ashok Bhan, former Director General of Police (DGP) and presently the member of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, was the chief guest while Nandan Kuthiala, chairman of the school was the guest of honour.
The event formally started with lighting of torch, followed by March Past by Jodhamal Scouts & Guides and a welcome speech by the Head Girl, Raggad Rafiq.
The principal welcomed the guests, parents and all the students.
The students showcased their multifaceted talents in the many events like 200 Meters Race, 4 x 100 Meters Relay Race, Fireman Lift, Lemon Spoon Race, Hurdle Race, Swimming, Sack Race and Let Us Go to the School.
An array of Rainbow colours and eloquence was displayed via the Football Dance and Aerobics. A well synchronized Martial Arts demonstration by the Taekwondo students added charm to the show.
The event had a spectacular closure speech by the chief guest, Dr Ashok Bhan who while emphasizing on the importance of sport activities said these help in developing the various skills like intelligence, logistic and intra structural potentialities. He encouraged the students and motivated them to bring more laurels to the school in the future.
The proud winners were honoured by the chief guest. The Cork Shield was received by the Challenge House. The overall Football Trophy went to Discovery House, the overall Basket Trophy was given to Discovery House and the overall Swimming Trophy was presented to Challenge House. The overall Skating Trophy was conferred to Enterprise House.
The event culminated with the soothing pious Shlok sung by Nandini Kapoor of Class 10th, followed by the National Anthem.
