UDHAMPUR, Oct 20: Three persons died in separate road accidents across Udhampur district since the last 24 hours.
A motorcyclist died after his bike was hit by an unidentified vehicle on the National Highway near Samroli. The deceased was identified as Anil Kumar (23) son of Krishan Lal of Maitra Ramban.
An elderly woman, namely Reshma Devi (65) wife of Kutti Ram of Shapur Nili Majalta was knocked to death by a speeding minibus near Pannara in Majalta. She was crossing the road when a minibus, bearing Registration number JK14-7523 hit her. Some locals shifted the victim to PHC Majalta where doctors declared her as brought dead.
Meanwhile, pillion rider on a motorcycle, who had sustained critical injuries when the motorcycle met with an accident after skidding off the road at Satyani, Dhar Road in Udhampur, last night, today succumbed to his injuries at GMC Hospital Jammu.
The deceased has been identified as Sunil Kumar (31), son of Paras Ram of Kawa Udhampur.
The motorcyclist, namely Sanjay Kumar (24) son of Rattan Chand of Chack Basya, had died on the spot while Sunil Kumar was admitted to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors had referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu.
