JAMMU, Oct 20: The Post Graduate Department of Anatomy, Government Medical College, Jammu conducted a two days North State Chapter Anatomical Society of India, conference and workshop on the theme of total knee replacement and anterolateral approach to hip joint.
It was a meet of Northern States where 300 delegates from outside the J&K State belonging to Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal & Chandigarh, participated in the conference. 44 scientific papers and 6 guest lectures were presented in the two days conference.
Speakers of international fame like Dr. Chandrama Anand renowned anatomist, Dr. Daisy Sahni, Professor and Head of PGI Chandigarh were among the guest speakers on the occasion.
Minister of Health and Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din was the chief guest and inaugurated the conference and along with Principal Govt. Medical College Jammu Dr. Ghanshyam Dev Released the souvenir.
The welcome address was presented by Dr. Sunanda, Professor & Head Anatomy and vote of thanks by Dr. Rachna Assistant Professor of the Department. Session were followed by cultural programme in the evening.
The conference was a academic feast for the delegates. The Professor and Head of Anatomy Dr. Sunanda of Govt. Medical College Jammu, who was the chairperson of the occasion along with her team was applauded for success of the event by the North State Chapter Anatomical society at the valedictory function. Dr. Sunanda took over as the President of the NSCASI from Dr. Zora Singh Professor and Head Department of Anatomy, Faridkot.
