JAMMU, Oct 21: BJP today said it was the “dynasty politics” that led to the downfall of Congress in the recently -held Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana.
“Now Congress is saying ‘Priyanka Lao Congress Bachao’ (bring Priyanka to save Congress) which vindicates our stand that Congress has always promoted the dynastic rule and it has faith in only one family,” Jammu and Kashmir BJP spokesman Balbir Ram Rattan said.
“It is the dynasty politics that has led to the downfall of Congress, first in the Lok Sabha elections and now in the Assembly elections in the two states,” Balbir said.
He said Congress does not believe in democracy as it promotes only one clan to head the party.
“They (Congress) only rely on Gandhi surname and on the other hand our party (BJP) has given many prominent leaders to the country,” he said.
Rattan said BJP gave the nation a Prime Minister who had already proven his mettle in Gujarat.
“Gujarat development model which the entire nation was yearning to follow, they were fed up with a rubber stamp prime minister and BJP gave the people of the country a true leader,” he said.
