AKHNOOR, Oct 25: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor thrashed Young Star Cricket Club by 73 runs to advance in the ongoing 6th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, SCC scored a mammoth total of 224 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Chander Kiran top scored with 85 runs off 45 balls studded with 11 boundaries and 3 sixes, while Sumit Rajput, Sunit Sharma and Sunny Kumar contributed 53, 32 and 20 runs to the total respectively. For YSCC, Kalu took 2 wickets, while Rocky and Randeep claimed one wicket each.
In reply, YSCC managed to score 155 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 5 wickets and lost the match by a big margin of 74 runs. Lakhan and Randeep contributed 23 runs each, while Sandeep chipped in with 22 runs.
For SCC, Rajesh Sharma took 3 wickets, while Sham Singh Langeh, Dilawar Singh and Sonu Malhotra claimed one wicket each. Chander Kiran of Singh Cricket Club was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant batting performance.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Rajinder Singh as umpires, while Lucky was the scorer. The Tournament is being held under the supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, president Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor.
