JAMMU, Oct 28: World Judo Day was celebrated in the lush green lawns of G.D Goenka Public School, Jammu governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of the founder of Judo, Professor Jigoro Kano.
The programme kick started with the arrival of the Chief guest Vikas Gupta, Joint Secretary of Judo Federation of India and Secretary J & K Judo Association, Director                             Sanya Bansal  and Principal, Dr R P Singh.
The other esteemed guests who honoured the occasion with their presence were  Sooraj Bhan Singh, chief coach, Ritika Salathia and Jugal Kishore.
The programme was a real treat to watch young judokas, both boys and girls exhibited a great show of strength. It was a demonstration of self defence where the judokas implied not only the techniques learned but also their intellect, the spontaneity of the body. Principal , Dr R P Singh congratulated the Judo Coach Bhanu Pratap, Sher-e-Kashmir awardee for his achievements on the occasion.
