JAMMU, Oct 29: Chopra Academy Green registered a convincing win over Jodhamal Public School to advance in the ongoing Col R N Chopra U-12 Challenge Cup at IIIM cricket ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first, Jodhamal School scored a modest total of 100 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Dhruv, Anmol Gupta and Aditya Abrol contributed 16, 14 and 11 runs to the total respectively. For R N Chopra Academy, Ayush Pratap and Abhay Tandon took 2 wickets each, while Jugjap Singh and Sachidanand claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Chopra Academy Green scored 102 runs in 17 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Arya Suvansh Thakur was the top scorer with 22 runs, while Jugjap Singh and Abhay Tandon contributed 12 and 10 runs to the total respectively. For Jodhamal School, Vanamlin took 2 wickets, while Anmol and Nitin claimed one wicket each.
The participating teams include Col Chopra Academy Yellow, Blue, Green and Red; Sidhant Academy A and B, KC International Public School, Model Academy, GD Goenka Public School, Jodhamal Public School, RRL High School, Gandhi Nagar Fighters and Vivekanand Cricket Academy, Udhampur.
The Tournament is being held under the supervision of Zabeer Ahmad, Rakesh Basin, Sukomal Ganguly, Deepak Dogra and Akash Manhas.
