JAMMU, Oct 31: Model Academy got better of GD Goenka Public School in a thrilling contest by one wicket in the ongoing 2nd R N Chopra Challenge Cup at IIIM Cricket ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first, GD Goenka scored 87 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Satyam Raina scored 23 runs, while Ritvik contributed 20 runs to the total. For Model Academy, Shazil took 3 wickets, while Mintoo took 2.
In reply, Model Academy chased the target in 15 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus won the match by one wicket. Nikhil and Mintoo contributed 20 and 15 runs to the total respectively. For GD Goenka, Piyush took 3 wickets, while Deepak, Anish and Utkarsh claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, yesterday, Dhruv Singh’s unbeaten 82 and Aditya Abrol’s 66 not out helped Jodhamal Public School beat KC International School by 66 runs in a high scoring match. Dhruv Singh was also pick of the bowlers for Jodhamal, scalping 3 important wickets. For KC International, Yuvraj Singh and Himanshu scored 28 and 19 runs to the total respectively.
