POWERGRID Corporation observes Vigilance Awareness Week

JAMMU, Nov 2: POWERGRID Corporation of India observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 27 to November 1, 2014 in its all offices falling under Northern Region Transmission System-II.
During the Week, several programmes were organized in various schools apart from site offices for creating awareness among the employees and their family members highlighting evils of corruption and its impact on our society.
One such function was organized at Kendriya Vidyalaya No-1, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu where an Essay competition on the topic “Combating Corruption-Technology as an Enabler” was organised.
On the concluding day, a seminar on “Ethics in Public life” was organized at POWERGRID Regional Headquarters at Jammu where A K Pal, General Manager (O&M) was the chief guest.
Dr Neelika Arora, Assistant Professor, Central University of Jammu was the external guest invited on this occasion who deliberated on the burning issues being faced by us in present era. Paramjit Singh Chahal, Additional General Manager Vigilance and senior officers of POWERGRID, Northern Region-II were also present
In his address, Mr Pal apprised the dignitaries about the steps  being taken by POWERGRID in bringing more and more transparency in official works.  Vigilance Annual Magazine “CONDOUR” was also released on the occasion.
The prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions on the concluding function.
