Army organizing cricket tournament at Gujarpatti

KUPWARA, Nov 6: The Army today said that it is organizing a cricket tournament at Gujarpatti in North Kashmir in conjunction with Youth Welfare Society from today.
An Army official said in a statement that the tournament is being organized to provide opportunity to the local youth to participate in local events and inculcate a spirit of competitiveness amongst them.
“A total of 6 teams around Lolab are participating in the tournament with great and zeal and enthusiasm,” he said.
The official added the final match of the tournament is scheduled to be held at Model Village Chandigam on November 15.
“In addition to providing assistance and logistical support in conduct of competition, a prize money Rs 10, 000 for winner, Rs 5000 for the runners-up and Rs 2000 for the man of the match has been announced by the Army,” he added.
