JAMMU, Nov 7: A debate competition was organized on Biodiversity and its Conservation by Department of Botany, GDC Doda.
A welcome address was presented by Dr Ravinder Rana of Botany Department.
A total of 10 participants spoke on the topic, of which Gazi, Mussarat, and Shaista along with Umar Farooq were declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Principal, Prof Z A Hashmi was the chief guest on the occasion.
He put his view on the Biodiversity and its conservation and enumerated that modern infrastructure development leads to degradation of Biodiversity.
Dr Wahied Khawar Balwan of Zoology Department also spoke on the topic and discussed various methods to conserve Biodiversity.
The Jury Members were Dr Ajaz Ahmed, Dr Neelam Saba Balwan, Prof Jasveer and Prof Bashir, while the vote of thanks was presented by Prof Fariha Firdous.
The programme was compared by Munisha Katoch and Faizal Dev of B Sc Part-III.
