MAHORE, Nov 8: Assuring to change destiny of the residents of Jammu and Kashmir through visionary policies of his party, patron of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said that his party is seeking mandate of the people to establish a new system where every region and sub-region will be  on the map of development and socio-economic growth.
“The lopsided developmental policies propagated by the successive NC led Governments are responsible for the underdevelopment and marginalization of areas like Mahore”, Mufti said while addressing an impressive public meeting in support of party candidate for Gulabgarh assembly segment, Shafiq-ur-Rehman.
While stating that backwardness and underdevelopment in the mountainous belts of Reasi district are glaring examples of wrong developmental policies propagated by successive NC Governments, Mufti reminded the gathering that during the tenure of PDP Government a comprehensive developmental plan was implemented in this neglected region. He mentioned towards Angrala-Gulabgarh and Tulibana roads to remind the people about developmental initiatives taken by the PDP led Government to improve road connectivity in this belt. He assured that his party would ensure construction of Gulabgarh-Noorabad road to connect this belt with Kashmir Valley to open new avenues of growth in this region.
Pointing towards prevailing backwardness and non availability of basic amenities in this region, Mufti regretted that Gool-Arnas and Gulabgarh Assembly segments are represented by the ministers but residents of these two segments are struggling to get basic amenities like roads, education and health. “It means that elected representatives have failed to fulfil aspirations of the people”, he observed.
“It is high time that residents of this belt, irrespective of caste, creed, colour, religion or ethnicity, should jointly struggle to get basic amenities”, he exhorted the people and cautioned against nefarious designs of divisive forces.
Mufti observed representatives of this belt have always tried to mislead the people by their false propaganda but  this time they have nothing to show by way of performance to win over the electorate.
Terming PDP as a movement to change destiny of the people, Mufti said that his party has emerged as strong and credible voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir because common masses have faith on this party. “The pro people agenda of the party is formulated by incorporating wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society and we never compromised with our agenda for attaining power”, he said and reminded when PDP led coalition was formed in 2002, PDP’s agenda was prominently incorporated in the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) of the Government.
Mufti said that despite having just 16 MLAs in 2002 PDP had changed political discourse of the State and restored dignity and honour of the people Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikramaditya Singh said that for eliminating corruption and improving quality and efficiency of the governance in Jammu and Kashmir PDP is seeking mandate of the people.  He reminded the people that PDP led Government has implemented agenda of equitable development which ensured balanced development in every nook and corner of the State.
Nayeema Mehzoor, PDP Media Advisor, PDP candidate for Gulabgarh Assembly Shafiq ur Rehman,  Arshad Malik, Imtiyaz Shan, candidate for Gool-Arnas segment, Kabla Singh, Deepak Handa, Mushtaq, Sarwar Mir and others also spoke on the occasion.
