KATRA, Nov 10: Katra Indian Style famous and historic Vishal Dangal-cum-Kushti Maha Kumbh, 10th Rustam-e- Indian Style Dangal 2014, 2nd Women-Kesari title Katra and 2nd Jammu & Kashmir title was organized by Katra Indian Style Wrestling Association with special attraction of Women Wrestling at Multipurpose Sports Stadium of SMVDSB, here.
The event was held under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and was Sponsored by J&K Police, J&K Bank, SMVDSB, NHPC, Central Bank of India, LIC of India, PNB, Allahabad Bank, HDFC Bank, AIRCEL, besides active co-operation of Public Katra and District Administration.
Katra Vishal Dangal was inaugurated with Bhoomi Poojan and hoisting of wrestling flag by SDM Katra, Anil Kumar, SP Katra, Kulbir Singh and president, J&K Indian style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Deputy CEO SMVDSB, M Dass.
Satyabrat of Haryana, Sunil of Haryana, Ajay of Sanjay Akhara Delhi and Benia Min of J&K Police were adjudged 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively and were awarded with cash prizes of Rs 1.50 Lakh to first winner, along with silver gurj and patta. Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 30, 000 were presented to 2nd, 3rd and 4th winner respectively by the dignitaries present on the occasion.
Katra Women Kesari title was won by Divya Sain of Delhi, while Preeti and Rajni and Gagandeep were declared 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively to receive a cash prize of Rs 15,000; 11,000; 9,000 and 8,000 respectively.
Meanwhile, Chain Singh Shooter who had won bronze medal in 2014 Asian Games resident of District Doda, J&K was honoured by Katra Indian Style Wrestling Association on the occasion by providing him a cash prize of Rs 25,000, silver gurj and patta in the presence of General Manager NHPC, A G Ansari, Chief Engineer NHPC, Parkash, SP Kulbir Singh, SDM Anil Kumar and Shiv Kumar Sharma.
