Semis lineup drawn in women’s section; decision of JU-MDU Rohtak match pending

JAMMU, Nov 10: Semifinals position has been cleared in the the women’s section, while the three teams have also qualified for the semifinals in the men’s section and the decision of the quarterfinal match between Jammu University and MDU Rohtak is pending in the ongoing North Zone Inter University Handball (M&W) Championship 2014-15 conducted by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at its sports stadium here today.
Earlier, in the men’s quarterfinal matches, Kurukshetra University defeated ptu Jallandhar by (46-38), PU Chandigarh got better of GNDU Amritsar by (41-18) and  Punjabi University Patiala drubbed LPU Phagwara by (43-32) and the match between MDU Rohtak and University of Jammu remained undecided.
In women’s section, Kurukshetra University lost to  PU Chandigarh by (32-28), Punjabi University Patiala got better of RMLA University Faizabad by (28-24), Delhi University Sports Council, Delhi prevailed over University of Jammu by (30-07) and LPU Phagwara outplayed MDU Rohtak by (40-20).
The matches were officiated by Kartar Dogra, Vikas Sharma, Lakwinder Singh, Kaushal Dixit, Iqbal Singh, Kapil Sharma, Sanjeev Jamwal, Anoop Singh, Gourav Sharma, Karun Magotra, Bhan Priya, Roshini, Priya Choudhary, Priya Charak, Reeva, Prabhleen Kour, Rupali Sharma, Pooja Sharma and Ashish Dogra.
The matches were played under the supervision of Prof. Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
