JAMMU, Nov 12: MIER College of Education organized an Inter-Section and Inter-Departmental Quiz Competition in connection with the celebration of National Education Day, here.
The theme of the competition was “Education and its Various Aspects”.
6 teams from B Ed and B Ed Special Education courses participated in the competition.
The contest was organized by the Co-Curricular Committee of the College with the aim of making the youth realize the significance of education and its different aspects.
HoDs, faculty members and students of all the departments of the College were present on the occasion to motivate the participants.
At the onset, floral tributes were paid to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
Komal Sharma, Convener Co-Curricular Committee gave a brief life sketch and contributions of MaulanaAbulKalam Azad, the 1st Education Minister of Independent India whose birth anniversary is celebrated as National Education Day.
The team of B Ed Special education comprising Rajeev and Niharika stood first, while the second place was bagged by section A of B Ed represented by Poonam Devi and Ravi, whereas the team of section-C of B Ed represented by Sonia Dewan and Neha clamed third position.
Dr Annie Koul, HoD B Ed felicitated the prize winners and praised the students for enthusiastically participating in the activity.
Dr Renu, Director MIER also appreciated the efforts of the Co-curricular Committee for organizing the event.
The quiz contest was conducted by Jyoti Sharma, Member Co-curricular Committee and Shweta Pandita, B Ed student.
