JAMMU, Nov 12: In order to overcome slip and jamming, and to ensure safety/security of the passengers/other road users, strict one way traffic (for all types of vehicles) will be observed on Drass-Sonamarg road, on alternate days from November 13, 2014 till further orders.
To begin with, all types of vehicles will be allowed to ply from Drass side (towards Sonamarg) in a regulated manner on November 13, 2014. Similarly, on the following day (i.e. November 14, 2014) all types of vehicles will be allowed to ply from Sonamarg side (towards Drass) in a regulated manner. The system of strict one way traffic, on alternate days, will continue till further orders, said IG Traffic.
However, as per the statement, the movement of vehicles from Drass side (towards Sonamarg), will be allowed strictly between 0900 hours and 1200 hours only, on alternate days, and no vehicle whatsoever will be allowed to cross the location before and after the specified timings.
Similarly, the movement of traffic from Sonamarg (towards Drass) will be allowed strictly between 0900 hours and 1200 hours only, on alternate days and no vehicle whatsoever will be allowed to cross the location before and after the specified timings.
