JAMMU, Nov 15: JK Montessorie Sr Secondary School organized Annual Sports Day today to foster the spirit of sportsmanship in the students.
About 300 students of both the branches of the School participated.
The ceremony commenced with the welcoming of the chief guest, Ram Khajuria, secretary Indian Mountaineering Foundation North Zone Committee, New Delhi, Prof Mohd Ayuub Sheikh, chairman of the Institute, Managing Director Sanjeev Gupta, Director Academics Rajni Gupta, Vice Principal Geeta Dixit.
The ceremonial torch was lighted along with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra.
Vice Principal in her speech welcomed the guests, parents and all the students.
Various sports events were organized for students of class pre-nursery to class 7th which included Frog race , Fruit race, Crawling , Balloon filling race, Skipping race, Needle thread race and Balloon race.
In one leg race, Anuj Abrol of Class 2nd got Ist position, Fazan Beig clinched 2nd and Vanshika Verma bagged 3rd.
In Back race, Krishna Sharma of class 3rd got 1st position, Madhav Sethi of 2nd and Pratham Kumar got 3rd place.
In Balloon filling race of Class 4th, Jatin Pal Singh got 1st position, while in Skipping race, Aditya Jamwal of class 5th clinched 1st place and Tarushi Sharma got 2nd place.
In Needle thread race, Sayam Malhotra of class 6th bagged Ist position and Zeal Kour got 2nd place.
In Back to Back Balloon race, Angad Pal Singh and Sourav Noutiyal got 1st place, while Ridham and Rohan Manhas of class 7th bagged 2nd position.
The parents of Kovid Sharma of RTF-I and parent of Akhilesh Sharma of RTF-II class were also felicitated by the chief guest on the occasion.
The winners of various events were honoured with certificates by the chief guest and other dignitaries. The programme concluded with National Anthem.
