JAMMU, Nov 16: Continuing with his uninterrupted constituency-wise election campaign, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh today held a series of public meetings in the interior areas of Bhagwah, Goha (Marmat), Jandeli, Charalla, Gandoh and other places in the Assembly Constituencies of Doda and Bhaderwah.
Acknowledging people’s overwhelming enthusiasm for BJP at all these places, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that over last six decades, Doda-Bhaderwah region has been let down by its own elected representatives. Invariably, there has always been a representative of this region in the State Cabinet and at the same time, some of the leaders of this area have ruled the roost in the Union Capital over the last three decades, but in spite of that, this area continued to remain ignored which is a paradox, he added.
Dr. Jitendra Singh hinted at a number of development projects including road projects, tourist circuits and Kendriya Vidyalaya plans initiated by him for this area during the last six months of his tenure as Member of Parliament, but said, he would not elaborate on them today due to the constraints of “Model Code of Conduct”. However, he added, the results and fruits of this would be visible to all in a very short time.
The reason for lack of development in the Doda-Bhaderwah region, Dr. Jitendra Singh observed, is that the representatives elected to the State Legislature or the Parliament from this area were contented to obtain personal favours whether in the form of ministerial berth or business franchisees and in the process, they conveniently forgot that they owed their status and clout to the innocent people living in the far-flung hilly terrains of this backward region.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said, the graph of Narendra Modi’s popularity has gone so high that the State’s National Conference and Congress leaders who spoke rudely about him during Lok Sabha election campaign are today shy of uttering a word against him. A new chapter in the history of India has started with the taking over of the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre and it has been the Prime Minister’s constant endeavor to ensure that the benefits of development reach the remotest parts of the country, he added.
For getting the maximum benefits of the people-friendly Government at the Centre headed by Narendra Modi, Dr. Jitendra Singh appealed for vote in favour of BJP, so that the voice of Doda and Bhaderwah could echo in the halls of Jammu & Kashmir Assembly through the BJP MLAs who are going to be a part of the ruling party both in the State as well as at the Centre, he added, because the State is soon going to usher into an era of fast-track development under the Government headed by BJP.
