AKHNOOR, Nov 17: The Calliope School Doomi organized Annual Sports Meet 2014 in the School playground, here.
The Sports Meet was inaugurated by the School Director, Munish Suri and Principal, Vastalya Swami .
In the opening ceremony of the Meet, all Houses welcomed the guests with their style march or march past with House leaders holding their flags and leading their contingents.
In the Pre- Primary division Toffee Race by nursery class, Hopping race by LKG class, Crab race by UKG students and Lemon race by first standard students were organized with full zeal.
Among the primary wing an interesting Fun Game was organized between two teams from second class students. Another event of 100 meter race in Group 1 by girls and boys of class 3rd and 4th was organized respectively. Group 2 of class 5th and 6th also participated in 100 meter race.
The meet concluded with an eye catching event “Dumbbell Drill” power case and spreading the message of fitness. Speaking on the occasion Principal, Vastalya Swami highlighted the role and importance of sports in the life of a student.
She encouraged the students to take part in regular sports activities for overall personality development. She distributed prizes to the winners of various sports events conducted during the meet. Refreshment distributed to all the students after the sports meet.
Winners of 100 meter Race: Group 1 – Girls 1st Sonia Devi, 2nd Aditi, 3rd Simran of 4th class, Runner up Radhika of 3rd class.
Boys of 3rd class: 1st Vansh Manhas, 2nd Kuljeet Singh, 3rd Abhishek Manhas, Runner up Mridual.
Boys – 4th class 1st Krishna, 2nd Rizual, 3rd Ishan, Nichay runner up
100 Meter Race: Group 2 Girls: 1st Muskan of 6th class, 2nd Rajay of 5th class, 3rd Rekha of 6th class and runner up was Anjali of 5th class.
Boys: 1st Rishav Singh, 2nd Sumit Manhas, 3rd Tejveer Singh and Chandan Sharma, Runner up Mohinder Singh.
