NEW DELHI, Nov 18: Jeera prices rose further by 1.72 per cent to Rs 12,450 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators engaged in enlarged positions, driven by rising domestic as well as export demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in November month advanced by Rs 210, or 1.72 per cent, to Rs 12,450 per quintal with an open interest of 240 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in December contracts traded higher by Rs 180, or 1.46 per cent, to Rs 12,550 per quintal in 6,912 lots.
Analysts apart from rising domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market, tight supplies from producing belts mainly kept jeera prices firm at futures trade. (PTI)
