SAD resolves to support PDP

JAMMU, Nov 19:  State unit of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has resolved to support PDP in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Talking to media-persons here today, national vice president of  SAD (Amritsar), S. Jaspal Singh Mangal said that after the meeting of  PDP  leader and former J&K Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed with the  SAD (A) chief S Simranjeet Singh Mann recently, the State unit of the party has decided to support PDP in the Assembly elections.
Justifying his party stand, Mr Mangal said that Mufti Sayeed has assured the SAD leadership that he would provide adequate representation to the Sikh community in every field and rectify the past mistakes.  The PDP leader also assured to do justice with the minorities in the State and resolve the pending issues.
He said that a large number of Sikh community members are also POJK refugees and Mufti Sayeed also gave assurance for taking up their issue with full might with the Centre for the final settlement.  After seeking commitment from the PDP leadership, the SAD leadership in the State has decided to support PDP, he added.
SAD national general secretary S Gurdev Singh  and another leader Bhai Ram Singh also spoke on the occasion.
