KATHUA, Nov 25: Kathua Police today registered a case against former Minister Babu Singh and Congress candidate from Kathua Assembly Constituency and his two brothers on the directives of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Kathua for entering into the house of Neelam Sharma, wife of PDP candidate from Kathua Assembly Segment, Subash Sharma along with scores of his supporters and harassing her and other inmates of the house during the night of November 22.
Mrs Sharma filed an application before CJM Kathua seeking the directives of Court to Police for registering the FIR against Babu Singh and others for his action. She in her application alleged that police despite her complaint has failed to register the FIR against Babu Singh and his supporters.
Besides, Babu Singh his two brothers Ravinder Singh and Satinder Singh as well as scores of his supporters were among others named in her complaint.
Confirming this, the SHO Kathua said that the FIR was registered in the PS Kathua on the directives of CJM against Babu Singh and others.
The Court issued directives to Kathua Police to file the FIR and report compliance. Later on the directives of Court a FIR was registered in Police Station Kathua under No 422/14 under section 460/504/506/509/149/ 120 B.
However no arrest has been made so far.
It may be recalled that on November 22, Nitin Sharma, son of Subash Sharma fired at the residence of Babu Singh which resulted into clash between two families living adjoining to each other in Ward No 1. Following protest by Babu Singh and his supporters police detained Nitin Sharma, seized his weapon and registered a case against him.
