66th Raising Day Celebrated

JAMMU, Nov 26: The 66th NCC Raising Day was celebrated by the 2nd J&K Boys BN NCC at Govt. M.A.M College today, which marked the conclusion of week long celebrations.
The function was held under the guidance of Lt Col JP Kathiytal.
Noted Physician and Psychiatrist, Dr Manu Arora was the chief guest while Dr. Anita Sudan Principal of this college presided over the function.
Two extension lecturers were delivered on the occasion one by Associated NCC officer Prof. Savita Jamwal on the topic “Anti Dowry, Anti Female” and the other by Dr. Manu Arora on  ”Mantal Illness”.
Prof. Savita asked the cadets to take a pledge not to accept Dowry at any caste and in any form and to give proper respect to the weaker Sex as a mother, a sister, a wife and a daughter. She said that in the present world women have proved that they are second to none in any field and they have performed miraculously in many fields.
Dr Manu Arora while speaking on the topic “Mental Illness” said that in the present world  tough competitions has led to Psychological pressure on the youth which leads to Mental Illness. He advised the cadets to go for Yoga and lead a life away from Drugs to keep happy and healthy.
Addressing the cadets on this occasion, Principal Dr Anita Sudan said that the aim of NCC is to inculcate the leadership traits and qualities of good citizenship among the cadets.
Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Rakesh Koul. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr.  Sangeeta Sudan, Dr I A Khan and Dr Rajesh Sharma.
