7 hospitalised after clash over land dispute

MENDHAR, Nov 27: Seven  members of two groups were injured in a bloody clash over some land  dispute at Gohlad in tehsil Mendhar today.
A police spokesman said that two relatives Altaf Beg  and Asif Beg, residents of  Sona Wali Bowli near Gohlad had some old land dispute. One of them started constructing a shed for the cattle on the disputed land. Upon this, the family members from both the sides indulged in the heated exchanges and then came to blows.
They freely used lathis and sharp edged weapons and resorted to stonning. At least seven  persons were injured and the condition of two was stated to be serious. Nissar Beg and Asif Beg were later referred to District Hospital, Rajouri from SDH Mendhar. The other injured persons were identified as Afzal Beg, Gul Hussain, Mohd Younis, Safeer Beg and Asia Bi.  Both the parties have lodged counter FIRs.  The police was investigating.
