New Challengers faces KCSC in summit clash

JAMMU, Nov 29: Outplaying their respective rivals convincingly in the semifinals, New Challengers Cricket Club and KC Sports Club have made it to the finals and will lock horns with each other in the summit clash at KC School ground, here tomorrow.
The Tournament is being organized by KC Sports Club and sponsored by KC Hyundai.
In the first semifinal, KC Sports Club defeated RCC Srinagar by 20 runs in a low scoring match.
Winning the toss and batting first, KC Sports Club scored a modest total of 124 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Naushad and Romy contributed 21 and 20 runs respectively. For RCC Srinagar, Kuldip scalped 4 wickets, while Amit Sharma and Rohit Sharma claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, RCC, bundled out for 104 runs, thus lost the match by 20 runs. Ahmer top scored with 25 runs, while Puneet Wattal contributed 15 runs to the total. For KC Sports, Vivek took 3 wickets, while Naushad and Ashwani bagged 2 wickets and Arjun claimed one.
In another semifinal, New Challengers Cricket Club sailing on a superb batting display by Bansi Lal (Ashu) got better of Rommy Sports Club by 27 runs.
Batting first, New Challengers scored a decent total of 132 runs in the stipulated 16 overs. Bansi Lal was the top scorer with unbeaten 80 runs off 48 balls, studded with 8 boundaries and 2 sixes, while Gokul Baru and Ishan contributed 24 and 18 runs to the total respectively. For Rommy Sports, Jitender and Vijay Dogra claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Rommy Sports managed toi score 105 runs in the allotted overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match 27 runs. Parveen Singh (28) and Manish Dogra (22) were the main contributors. Naresh was the pick of the bowlers for New Challengers, who scalped 4 important wickets by conceding 13 runs in his 2 overs, while Manjeet Singh bagged 3 wickets by giving away 22 runs in his 3 overs. Bansi Lal and Rahul Mussa claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Sohail Yousuf and Sandeep Manchanda as umpires, while Minkle was the scorer.
