J&K takes on formidable Maharashtra in Ranji Trophy tomorrow

JAMMU, Dec 5: The Senior Selection Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) headed by its chairman, Ashinder Koul, announced the 16-member list of Ranji Trophy team, which will be locking horns with the strong Maharashtra team in the elite Group-A at Wankhade Stadium from December 7, 2014.
With their splendid performance in the last season, Jammu and Kashmir has for the first time sealed berth in the elitist group of the Ranji Trophy format this season.
Surprisingly, the only omission from the J&K team which performed brilliantly in the recently held Vijay Hazare trophy, was opening batsman Vimarsh Kaw, who has been replaced by speedster Mohd Mudasir.
The team: Parvez Rasool (Captain), Ramdayal Punia (Vice Captain), Ian Dev Singh, Adil Reshi, Shubham Khajuria, Hardeep Singh, Bandeep Singh, Aditya Pratap Singh, Paras Sharma, Obaid Haroon (wk), Waseem Raza, Samiullah Beigh, Umar Nazir, Mehjoor Ali, Manik Gupta and Mohd Mudasir.
