Science College organizes seminar on ‘Drug Abuse, Illicit Trafficking’

JAMMU, July 26: Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College today organized a seminar on “Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”.
On the occasion, JP Singh, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Jammu-Kathua range was the chief guest while Dr Manu Arora, senior Psychiatrist, Government Medical College, was the resource person.
Dr Satinder Singh, Principal of the college presented the welcome address and advised the students to work against this menace as it is eating the vital roots of the society. He added that the youth are the most exposed class to drug addiction and they have the power to eradicate this.
Dr Manu Arora in his speech gave the overview about the root cause of this evil and its consequences.
DIG JP Singh explained the role of administration in checking this curse and advised the students to be vigilant against all those evils, which are destroying the society in one or the other way.
During the seminar, students namely Naureen and Manpreet Kour expressed their views on the topic.
The seminar was organised under the supervision of Dr Rajinder Singh, NSS Programme Officer.
The programme was anchored by Dr Alpana Vohra, while Prof Anju Sharma presented vote of thanks.
