NEW DELHI : A deep sense of outrage over the bail granted to Mumbai terror attack mastermind Zakiur-Rehman Lakhvi by a Pakistan court echoed in the Lok Sabha as members cutting across party lines wanted a response from the government.
The issue was raised by Congress leader in the House Mallikarjun Kharge, SP’s Mulayam Singh Yadav and other members who had given notices of an adjournment motion to discuss the issue and for which they pressed as soon as the House assembled for the day.
However, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said she would allow them to speak on the matter in the Zero Hour. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu, agreeing with the members over the importance of the issue, said the government would come with a response on Monday as External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was busy due to the visit of Bangladesh President Mohammad Abdul Hamid.
