JAMMU, Dec 19: District Jammu Boxing Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Boxing Association, under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council, concluded at Boxing Ring, MA Stadium, here today. Around 100 boxers in various weight and age categories participated in the championship, which was inaugurated by Dr Nirmolak Singh, senior Sports Medicine Specialist. In Senior Category, Ankush Sharma won gold and Vijay Kumar bagged silver in 46-49 kg while in 49 to 52 kg, Sandeep Singh and Sunil Sharma bagged gold and silver, respectively. In 52 to 56 kg, Sunny Kumar clinched gold and Sunny Taryal bagged silver while in 56 to 60 kg, Avinash Kumar and Hardesh Singh won silver and gold, respectively. The gold medal in 60 to 64 kg was bagged by Chander Dev Singh, while Anil Chib won silver. In 64-69 kg, Rinku Kumar won gold and Sunil Kumar bagged silver. In 69-75 kg, Ankush Kumar Sharma clinched gold while Ricky Kumar won silver medal. In 81-91 kg, Prashast Sharma won gold while Mohd Saud Bhat bagged silver. In Sub-Junior category, Maan Singh and Vasik Talib won gold and silver medals, respectively in 27-30 kg while in 30-33 kg, Arif Wani clinched gold and Kamal Sharma bagged silver medal. In 36-39 kg, Aman Sharma bagged gold while Aditya Dogra won silver. In 44-46 kg, Shubhum Sudan clinced gold while Rahul Kumar won silver. Ashish Manhas and Rangeel Singh bagged gold and silver in 46-48 kg, respectively. In 48-50 kg, Aryaveer bagged gold while Ajay Kumar won silver. In 50-52 kg, Kartik Soni clinched gold while Jatin Kumar bagged silver. The prizes were awarded to the medal winners by Dr Nirmal Singh.
