JAMMU, Dec 22: District Amateur Athletics Association and District Police Pulwama organised one day Athletics Meet in Sports Stadium Pulwama today.
50 youths from district Pulwama under the age group of 19 years and above participated in the competition.
The events held included 100 meters sprint, 200 meters race, 400 meters race and 800 meters race, shot put, discus throw and long jump.
SP Pulwama was the chief guest on the occasion, while District Youth Services and Sports Officer Pulwama was the guest of honour.
Additional SP Pulwama and DySp Dar Pulwama were also present.
The chief guest and guest of honour distributed trophies, medals and certificates among the winners on the valedictory function.
The competition was held to promote the sporting skills of youth and the officers stressed upon them to take part in the sports in order to improve their physique and health.
