Jammu, Dec 24: A meeting was held at State Health Society, Nagrota to discuss and finalize the District Health Action Plans submitted by District Health Societies for incorporating in State Programme Implementation Plan (SPIP) of National Health Mission, for the FY 2015-16.
The Action Plans were reviewed in presence of Dr Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, NHM, J&K;  Dr Baljeet Pathania, Director Health Services Jammu; Dr. Baldev Raj Sharma and Director Family Welfare and Satvir Kour, Director (Planning & Statistics).
Mission Director informed the stakeholders that Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has anticipated an increase of 15 percent in the outlay for the next financial year and accordingly District Health Societies were asked to re submit their plan by December 29 without compromising on key evidence based interventions.
It was also informed that Govt is intending to launch National Health Assurance Mission which includes components of free essential drugs and diagnostics and comprehensive care. As part of preparatory activities, districts were asked to plan for strengthening infrastructure facilities especially, the sub centres, drug ware houses and IT systems for drug logistics & supply chain.
During the meeting, District Health Societies were asked to focus on gap analysis conducted in health institutions with the support of Public Health Foundation of India for PIP formulation so that the identified gaps can be filled.
The meeting was attended by FA & CAO, State Health Society, M.L. Raina, Chief Medical Officers of Jammu Division; Dr. Harjeet Rai, Divisional Nodal Officer, NHM, Jammu, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, Divisional Nodal Officer, NHM, Kashmir; Programme Managers of State Health Society, and staff of District Programme Management Units of Jammu province.
