JAMMU, Dec 24: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a practicing lawyer Rajinder Singh Jamwal regarding poor working of State Pollution Control Board, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur today issued notice to Chief Secretary, Chairman and Secretary of the Board and Central Pollution Control Board.
In the PIL, it has been pointed out that there is hardly any arrangement for testing the air or pollution control. The parties have to resort to private laboratory for obtaining reports which results in wide spread violation of law because no authenticity has been attached to the reports issued by the private laboratory.
After hearing petitioner in person, DB issued notice to Chief Secretary, Chairman Central Pollution Control Board, Chairman and Secretary State Pollution Control Board and directed time to file response.
