JAMMU, Dec 25: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) field by Educational Environmental Social Sports and Cultural Society regarding implementation of AYUSH systems of medicine, Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur today directed Chief Secretary and others to file reply before next date of hearing with cost of Rs 2500.
In the PIL, it has been submitted that AYUSH doctors are forced to prescribe allopathic medicines which is against norms and due to which the choice of treatment given to patients under one roof has been defeated.
It has further been submitted that the SHRC has also taken cognizance of the matter in a complaint and directed the State Government to prohibit AYUSH doctors to prescribe allopathic medicines.
After hearing both the sides, DB observed, “on last date of hearing this court had directed Chief Secretary and others to file reply but counsel for the respondents still seeks some more time to file the reply”.
Accordingly, DB directed that the needful shall be done before the next date of hearing with the observations that the same shall be subject to payment of Rs 2500 as costs.
