KATHUA, Dec 26: People in Kathua and Hiranagar tehsils are facing acute scarcity of drinking water for last three months as 50 pump stations have become defunct since then.
The people of the twin tehsils said that a large number of pump stations of PHE are defunct for last three months with the result the people are facing acute water scarcity.
They said that the cause of water scarcity is due to mechanical and electrical fault in motors and despite the repeated pleas to authorities they failed to do the needful and remove the snag.
The people have made an appeal to Chief Engineer PHE to look into the matter so that the problem is solved.
