JAMMU, Dec 28: A two-month old female baby was abandoned by an unknown lady at General Bus Stand here today.
According to SHO Bus Stand, Sub-Inspector Bhushan Manhas, an unknown lady at about 1:45 pm handed over a two-month old female baby to an old woman namely Nazira Bibi wife of Abdul Gani Gujjar, a resident of Dansal here at General Bus Stand, who was waiting for her bus, on the pretext of going to toilet.
However, when the lady did not return back for hours together to take the baby, the old woman told the matter to nearby people, who informed the Bus Stand police.
The Bus Stand police made several announcements on the mike to find out the lady but when no one came to take the custody of child, it shifted the child to NICU ward of SMGS Hospital Jammu for care and registered a case FIR No 84/14 u/s 317 RPC against unknown lady.
