REASI, Dec 29: On his maiden visit to Katra, the newly elected MLA Reasi, Adv. Ajay Nanda was accorded a warm reception by the people today. Right from Mahadev Mandir Rasi a cavalcade of cars and scooters/motorcycles had bee-lined to receive him.
Nanda was surrounded by a large number of Party men amidst the deafening slogans and beating of drums and bursting of crackers. At Katra the winning procession started from Dak bunglow Katra passing through main and culminated at Party office at Panthers road. Local folk singers, dressed in colorful dresses, mesmerized the people having assembled over there by their folk numbers and traditional dances.
While addressing the people, Nanda said that he is humbled by the overwhelming mandate given by the people of Reasi who have rejected money, muscle power and caste-based politics over here. He further said that BJP believes in equitable development of all the regions Reasi, Bamaag, Katra and Pouni. He vowed to work for good governance, transparent and responsive administration, uninterrupted power supply, hygienic water supply, improved road connectivity and better educational, health, animal care and recreational facilities in the area. Later Ajay Nanda toured Panthal Karkyal and adjoining areas.
Among others who accompanied him included Mandal Pradhan Katra Ajay Barru Mandal Pradan Reasi Chaman Bhagat, Sudershan Singh, Romesh, Sorab Mengi, Ankush Nargotra, Karan, Surinder and a wide galaxy of local leaders.
