JAMMU, Dec 29: Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) in collaboration with BLSKS presented its 123rd nukkad natak, “Apni Virasat Talasho”, at Municipal Park, near Bus Stand in its Monday Theatre series.
The central character of the play, Ramu hails from a remote area and gets a job in a Metro city, where he faces many handicaps in adjusting himself because of his eating and living habits, language and culture. Finally, he becomes frustrated and asks his parents for help.
His parents visit him in the city and help him to accommodate his living culture and habits in the city. They advise him that he should adopt all good habits, culture but should not forget his origin at any cost. Finally, he succeeds in establishing himself in that atmosphere and feels proud of his origin and culture.
The play serves as an inspiration for our young generation which has forgotten the origin, mother tongue, mannerism, discipline and ethics. The play educates that we should not avoid our traditions, teachings and culture, which is our ‘Virasat’. It teaches that adopting modern culture is not wrong but not at the cost of our origin.
The actors who acted in the play were Anuroop Pathania, Rahul Pandita, Nazuk Bhagat, Kuldeep Raj, Surbhi Mahajan, Vijay Jeetu, Laksh Bali and Vijay Malla.
The play was written and directed by Vijay Malla and assisted by Anuroop Pathania.
