JAMMU, Jan 3: Range Police Jammu today organized closing ceremony of X-Mas and New Year Under-14 (boys) Test Series organized for the wards of police martyrs and serving police personnel in collaboration with Christian Sports Organization.
On the occasion, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu-Kathua Range was the chief guest, who while speaking said that the junior police cricket team which participated in the cricket tournament comprises kids of the police martyrs and police officers/officials who get less attention due to hectic engagements of the police personnel.
DIG further said that kids of the police martyrs/service police personnel have been encouraged to participate in the sports activities to keep them mentally and physically fit and channelize their tendencies in right direction and to keep them away from all the social evils viz. drug addiction etc.
During the test series 3 matches were conducted between JKP Junior-XI and Sports Christian Junior-XI. JKP Junior XI won the test series.
Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu was accompanied by Parshotam Sharma Deputy Director Prosecution Member Organizing Committee, Rajesh Gill, organizing secretary, Manmohit Sharma CPO RPHQ Jammu, member organizing committee.  Senior cricketers Sunil Sambyal, Anand Tripathi,  Saleemul Rehman and Sheetal Nanda, wife of DySP Headquarters Vivek Shekhar  were also present on the occasion.
Shakeel Ahmed Beig presented trophies to best bowlers to Aryman Parihah of JKP Junior and Praful Dhar of Christian Sports Junior, who claimed 9 wickets during the test series, Best batsman award was presented to Shivansh Sharma and Naren Dev Singh from JKP Junior, who scored century and double half century respectively. The man of the series award was presented to Rohan Gill, who scored 56, 31 and 19 runs and picked 8 wickets the test series.
During the cricket tournament, the proceedings were conducted by RP Singh and Sadiq Hussain, while as Vinod, Sandeep Manchanda and Suhail Yousuf were the umpires.
