KATHUA, Jan 3: Liyakat Ali, Baru Hussain and Suleman claimed first, second and third positions respectively in the 51 kg category of the District Wrestling Championship, being organized by J&K Wrestling Association at Sports Stadium here.
In 57 kg category, Showkat Ali secured first position, while as second and third positions were claimed by Saraj-ud-Din and Nazir Ahmed, while as in 61 kg category, Yaqoob Ali, Liyakat Ali and Mohammad Sadiq emerged winner.
In 65 kg category, Sharif Ali, Sharif Ahmed and Mushtad Ali claimed first, second and third positions respectively, while as in 74 kg category, Rashid, Sahil Dogra and Rahul Kumar emerged winner.
In 84 kg category, Din Mohammad, Shabir Hassan and Subash Singh emerged victorious and secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In the championship, maximum number of wrestlers from across the district participated and exhibited their skills.
Prominent personalities of J&K Wrestling Association present on the occasion were Subhash Singh Jamwal, Sunil Singh, Dheeraj Sharma, Ravinder Kumar and Gurdeep Singh.
