JAMMU, Jan 4: J&K Speedball team won 15 medals and secured first place in the junior and senior national championships which was held at Kanpur, UP.
J&K team was followed by New Delhi on second position and UP at third position.
In this championship, 19 players from J&K participated and secured medals thus brining laurels not only to the State but also to their respective schools.
The gold medals were claimed by Puneet Kumar, Pranay Gupta, Gurmehar Singh Sodhi, Ankit Sharma, Mansi Salathia, Aryan Kangotra and Sahil Janjua, while as the silver medals were pocketed by Rhea Tikku, Ashutosh Singh and Mradima Gupta. The bronze medals were claimed by Pranav Sharma, Dixit, Ekjot Kour, Ashish Preet Singh, Amandeep Sharma, Paramjeet and Manika Sharma.
The team was led by Sunny Nanda, general secretary, J&K Sports Speedball Association.
In this competition, around 500 students from 16 units of Speedball Association of India participated.
