Truck driver held with 400 ltrs kerosene oil

JAMMU, Jan 5: Police today arrested a truck driver along with 400 litres of kerosene oil, which he was carrying illegally for illegitimate profit from Banote village, falling under the jurisdiction of RS Pura police station.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police team from RS Pura police station conducted a raid in Banota village and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02X-9983.
During checking, police recovered 400 litres kerosene oil, which the driver of the vehicle was carrying illegally for illegitimate gains.
The accused driver identified as Sanju, son of Charan Dass, a resident of Kultyar, district Udhampur has been arrested, while kerosene oil dealer namely Lalit Sharma, son of Jagan Nath Sharma of Banota fled away from the spot.
A case under FIR number 3/15 under Section 409 RPC and 3/7 EC Act has been registered at RS Pura police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO RS Pura police station Aabid Rafiqi made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Devinder Singh, SP Headquarters Randhir Singh and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
