UDHAMPUR, Jan 5: Peer Baba Akhara, Roun Domail clinched the title trophy of 10th District Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Championship, being organized by Indian Style Wrestling Association, district Udhampur in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council here today.
On the occasion, MLA Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat was the chief guest who presented medals and certificate to the wrestlers in presence of Treasurer, Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma, retd Headmaster and social worker Parsotam Singh, Advocate Sanjeet Kumar, retd Tehsildar Bansi Lal Tidyal, District Horticulture Officer Varinder Sharma, Numberdar Dharm Singh and retd Zonal Sports Officer Mulkh Raj Sharma.
In 55 kg category, Dalbir Singh from Bainsta, Sunil Singh from Pinged and Joginder Singh from Ritti emerged winners, while as in 61 kg category, Anayat Ali from Ringal, Neeraj Sharma from Sarmoli and Sunil Kumar from Chopra Shop claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
In 67 kg category, Darshan Sharma from Jandrah, Sahil Singh from Panchari, Nazir Mohammad from Gudhar and Sunil Kumar from Kawa emerged victorious, while as in 75 kg category, Salman Khan from Chopra Shop, Arif Khan from Bhatyari and Yasir Khan from Ringal emerged winners. In 85 kg category, Ajay Kumar from Laden Power House and Gopal Sharma from Roun Domail claimed top ranks.
The bouts were officiated by Vijay Singh, Dheeraj Kumar, Chand Singh, Rajinder Singh, Pankaj Sadhotra, Laxman Singh Kotoch, Om Parkash Verma, Deepak Anand and Satish Kumar, treasurer, Indian Style Wrestling Association, district Udhampur.
In the end, vote of thanks was presented by general secretary of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Bansi Lal Tidyal.
